The Nelsons: Expertise, Education, and Unwavering Commitment to Protection 

 Dominion Defense was founded by Dustin and Katie Nelson—husband and wife, dedicated parents, experienced educators, and passionate defenders of faith, family, and freedom. We don't just teach protection; we embody the principles of responsible dominion, service, and skill mastery. 

Dustin's journey is defined by service, technical excellence, and the protection of others.

• Global Service and Missions: Dustin has traveled the world on mission trips, sharing the gospel and serving communities, often leading adventurous dirt bike tours to reach those in remote areas. He has a passion for teaching children practical skills that empower them for the future.
• Mechanical and Trade Mastery: Raised in his father’s mechanic shop, Dustin mastered the art of fixing nearly anything. He graduated top of his class at MMI with Harley Davidson and Yamaha specialties and is a licensed electrician, owning Power Ranger Electric.
• Safety and Training Authority: He is an NRA and RSO certified instructor, possessing a natural gift for teaching firearms safety and self-defense.
• Commitment to Child Safety: His fierce dedication to keeping children safe led him to serve as a school security officer.

Katie's background combines military resilience, advanced education, and a focus on holistic family care and strategic defense.

• Military Upbringing & Self-Reliance: Growing up in a military family, she learned to hunt, fish, and shoot from a young age, nearly pursuing competitive archery.
• Advanced Education and Instruction: Katie holds degrees in business and early childhood education. She has built a career as an award-winning teacher (Teacher of the Year at Dream City Christian School), curriculum developer, and instructional coach. She is currently pursuing her Master’s in Educational Leadership.
• Holistic Family Care: She previously owned a DIY apothecary business, teaching others to use herbs and holistic methods for family wellness.
• Empowering Women and Educators: She is an NRA and RSO certified instructor, focused on empowering women to feel confident with firearms and realistically protect their families.
• Community Advocacy: Katie is deeply involved in protective advocacy, serving on the board of AZCDLF and working with AZ FASTER Saves Lives to train school faculty in crisis response and protection.

Together, the Nelsons are building a movement—training families, educators, and communities to take dominion over their safety, their skills, and their future.
